Stefano Dafarra

Keynote title: ergoCub: the Embodied AI human aware humanoid


Bio

Stefano Dafarra obtained his M.S. degree in Automation and Control Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2016. He visited the robotics lab at the Institute of Human and Machine Cognition in Pensacola, Florida in 2019. He received his Ph.D on Advanced and Humanoid robotics from the University of Genoa working at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in 2020. He is currently a Researcher at IIT. He led the technical activities of the iCub Team during the ANA Avatar XPrize international robotic competition. His research interests include teleoperation, optimization, optimal control, humanoid locomotion and imitation learning.



He Wang

Tenure-track Assistant Professor - Peking University

Keynote title: Generalizable and Functional Dexterous Grasping and Manipulation via Sim2Real


Bio

He Wang is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies (CFCS) at Peking University. He founded and lead the Embodied Perception and InteraCtion (EPIC) Lab with the mission of developing generalizable skills and embodied multimodal large model for robots to facilitate embodied AGI. He is also the director of the PKU-Galbot joint lab of Embodied AI and the BAAI center of Embodied AI. He has published more than 50 papers in top conferences and journals of computer vision, robotics, and learning, including CVPR/ICCV/ECCV/TRO/ICRA/IROS/NeurIPS/ICLR/AAAI. His pioneering work on category-level 6D pose estimation, NOCS, received the 2022 World Artificial Intelligence Conference Youth Outstanding Paper (WAICYOP) Award, and his work also received ICCV 2023 best paper finalist, ICRA 2023 outstanding manipulation paper award finalist and Eurographics 2019 best paper honorable mention. He serve as an associate editor of Image and Vision Computing and serve as an area chair in CVPR 2022 and WACV 2022. Prior to joining Peking University, He received my Ph.D. degree from Stanford University in 2021 under the advisory of Prof. Leonidas J.Guibas and his Bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University in 2014.



Roozbeh Mottaghi

Senior AI Research Scientist Manager Meta Fundamental AI Research (FAIR)

Keynote title: Leveraging Human Experience in Robotics


Bio

Roozbeh is a Senior AI Research Scientist Manager at FAIR and an Affiliate Associate Professor in Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington.
Prior to joining FAIR, he was the Research Manager of the PRIOR team at the Allen Institute for AI. Before that, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Computer Science Department at Stanford University. Roozbeh received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA, advised by Alan Yuille.
He obtained his Masters degrees from Simon Fraser University and Georgia Institute of Technology and his Bachelors degree from Sharif University of Technology.



Angelica Lim

Director of the ROSIE Lab, and an Associate Professor at Simon Fraser University (SFU).

Keynote title: Humans Aren't Robots: Expressive, Multimodal Human Simulation for Robotics


Bio

Dr. Angelica Lim is the Director of the ROSIE (Robots with Social Intelligence and Empathy) Lab, and an Associate Professor in the School of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Previously, she led the Emotion and Expressivity teams for the Pepper humanoid robot at SoftBank Robotics. She received her B.Sc. in Computing Science with Artificial Intelligence Specialization from SFU and a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Computer Science (Intelligence Science) from Kyoto University, Japan. She and her team have received Best Paper in Entertainment Robotics and Cognitive Robotics Awards at IROS 2011 and 2022, and Best Demo and LBR at HRI 2021 and 2023. She has been featured on the BBC, TEDx, hosted a TV documentary on robotics, and was recently featured in Forbes 20 Leading Women in AI. Her research interests include multimodal machine learning, generative models, affective computing, and human-robot interaction.



Gaofeng Li

Tenure-tracked Professor under the Hundred Talents Program at Zhejiang University

Keynote title: Agile Telerobotic Systems: Embodied and Intelligent Robotic Manipulation Learning with Human-in-the-Loop


Bio

Gaofeng Li is currently a tenure-tracked professor under the Hundred Talents Program at Zhejiang University. He received his B.E. and Ph.D degrees from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2013 and 2018, respectively. He was a visiting student in Netbot Lab., Texas A&M University, USA from Nov. 2015 to Dec. 2016. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), Genova, Italy from Dec. 2018 to Feb. 2022. His research interests include Lie Group in Robotics, Telerobotics, Robotic Manipulation, Imitation Learning, etc.. Dr. Li had been selected into the New Generation Star Project and attent the VIP dinner with the PC members of IEEE ICRA 2024. He was the Recipient of Capek's Ninth Annual Distinguished Young Scholar Award, the Qizhen Outstanding Young Scholar of Zhejiang University, the 2022-2023 Annual Outstanding Reviewer Award for , the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of Tianjin Municipality and the Outstanding Doctoral Doctoral Dissertation of Nankai University. He is a member of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. He is a member of the T-Mech Junior Reviewer Program (TJRP). He is a member of the young special committee on Intelligent Robots of GCI. He serves/served as a Lead Guest Editor for International Journal of Humanoid Robotics (IJHR), a Late Breaking Report chair for the 2024 33rd IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication (RO-MAN), an Associate Editor for the 2024 20th IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE) and the 2022 7th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics (ARM), etc
